CHAPTER 12

Devon stared at Malcolm waiting for him to talk. He swore right then that if he felt Malcolm was lying, he would beat his ass without hesitation.

“I don’t know anything about any of those assholes that came after Allen took over the pack.” Malcolm said looking not only Devon in the eye, but Dell. “We didn’t have those kinds of talks and honestly at the time I couldn’t give a shit about any of them.”

“Do you know anyone who would want to avenge Allen Kingsman’s death?” This question came from Garrett.

“That I seriously doubt, because no one other than Leda came to avenge her father’s death which, as we all know, was Allen’s brother.” Malcolm said which made sense. “So yeah, I don’t think this has anything to do with Allen.”

Devon didn’t think so either. “Minor never talked about family?”

“Not to me.” Malcolm said with a frown. “I don’t know if he did with Jamie. I wasn’t around too much when they were together.”

“Why is that?” Marcus questioned.

“Jamie didn’t want me around because she didn’t want me to see how she was being treated, but I knew.” Malcolm said, then cursed under his breath. “We did what we had to do to survive. Jamie knew if I went after Minor, and Minor didn’t kill me Allen would for going after one of his top pack leaders. We not only swore our allegiance to Allen, but also his top guys. I wasn’t one of them because I was part of the true Kingsman’s pack. The only ones allowed close to Allen were the ones Allen brought in to bring Leda’s dad down. I also knew it would make it even harder than it already was on her, and she was barely hanging on as it was.”

The more Malcolm spoke Devon could feel his rage build. He didn’t even know half of what Jamie went through during her time under Allen Kingsman’s control, but he had a feeling he was about to find out.

“Someone is asking questions and Jamie seems to be their main concern. Any other reason than Minor that might be?” This came from Dell.

“Not everyone came with us that night. A few stayed behind, not out of loyalty to Allen, but some were too old to travel or sick, or whatever reason. Maybe this has something to do with that. Jamie was everyone’s go to at that time. She and she alone kept the true Kingsman going by giving them information she learned through Minor during his drunken rants.” Malcolm informed them. “I’m not saying that’s the case, but maybe it is someone searching us out since Allen was killed, we never went back. They may be trying to find us and Jamie is the one they would be asking for.”

Devon hoped it was that simple, but something inside him bellowed that was not the case. Jamie was in danger. He knew it and his wolf knew it. He looked at everyone before his gaze stopped on Dell. “It’s not that simple.
